    • MickTower:   I agree with matty, simpson is ordinary. Always has been, always will be. 18 May 2009

    • B Man:   Sorry matty, if you watched a team other than your own occassionally you'd know he's having a great year. No way. 18 May 2009

Adam Simpson Out of all the AFL Captains this bloke would have to be the worst player. Every kick just goes straight up in the air, has he ever tried to hit a target? Last reply 10 May 2008

    • B Man:   I think Simmo is genuinely injured, unlike Mr. Gary Ablett Junior who is afraid to get out their and mix it with the big boys. Has a mysterious 'one week' injury. (See previous thread: http://www.choppingblock.com.au/post_re-soft_439.aspx). 10 May 2008

    • MickT:   Oh no emz, the case worsens. I hope you're not planning on being a lawyer one day. The Hall of Fame game is designed for the best players in the AFL to take the field together, hence the reason we won't see Adam Simpson out there tonight. 10 May 2008

    • emz:   errr, pretty sure Simmo's not actually playing in the Hall of Fame game, hmmm..... However, this just serves to further prove the point that he is underrated, not that he doesn't deserve a spot. 7 May 2008

    • footyfreak:   Sorry Mick, you're obviously not watching enough North Melbourne games. Adam Simpson is consistently in the teams best and is one of the most under rated captains in the league. Maybe you'll watch the Hall of Fame game and see what he actually does on the field. 25 Apr 2008

    • MickT:   emz, sometimes in life you need to face reality. Having won 2 coaches awards in your junior days I can understand how you can relate to Adam Simpson. Unfortunately from what i've seen, Adam Simpson is always in the packs making sure the opposition gets first use of the ball. 25 Apr 2008

    • emz:   I noticed you'd chopped Adam Simpson and was horrified - I won't hear a bad word against him. He is always in the packs, making sure North get first use of the ball. And secondly, I was very offended at your opinion on the 'Coaches Award' - I got 2 of them in my junior days...... Maybe this diatribe against such an award stems from your own junior days when you missed out on both the best and fairest, and the coaches, award, and have now felt the need to turn this bitterness into an unwarranted attack on the Coaches Award. 23 Apr 2008

    • MickT:   B Man before I respond to your reply, I'd like to tell you about an award called the 'Coaches Award'. At most junior football clubs, there's always one kid who is a bit of a loser, but he tries really hard. This kid never wins anything, so most clubs have a 'Coaches Award' that they use to reward the kid for all his efforts. When North Melbourne picked Adam Simpson as their Captain, I suspect a similar criteria to the 'Coaches Award' was used to make this decision. 25 Mar 2008

    • B Man:   That is ridiculous MickT. Admittedly not in our best today though the guy is worth his place on pure effort alone. He leads by example and would be one of the first picked by anyone down at the club. 24 Mar 2008
