Guess who's back. Back again
Chappy's back. Tell a friend. Guess who's back, guess who's back, guess who's back, I've created a monster, cause nobody wants to see Wojcinski no more They want Chappy, Kelly is chopped liver (huh?) Well if you want Chappy, this is what I'll give ya A little bit of skill mixed with...

Turning point
Rooke's gutsy spoil on Johnson last night was a critical turning point in the match. The bloke just disregards his own safety for the team. He's probably the first guy picked at the Geelong selection table every week.

Needs to step up
Lonergan, last night's prelim final performance was ordinary. We need you to step up in the Grand Final... we're not taking passengers into Saturday's match.

Can play!
Varcoe's spot in the grand final should be safe after his blistering performance last night. By far the best game he's played for Geelong, just when it mattered most. At key stages of the match, it was Varcoe who provided the spark Geelong needed, where others looked flat. Same next week...

Most courageous player in the AFL
Now that Glenn Archer has retired, Joel Selwood is the most courageous player in the AFL... by a mile. No other player in the AFL has contributed more in their first 40 matches.

Cats enjoy light training session at the G...
It was good of St Kilda to partipate in Geelong's light training session at the G last Sunday afternoon. I wonder if Sydney or the Bulldogs will be good enough to join the cat's for their 2nd last training session for the year in a couple of weeks time?

The only team with something to play for...
Geelong is the only team with something at stake this finals series. For every other side, losing to Geelong in the finals or Grand Final would be considered acceptable. If Geelong loses the Grand Final it will be a disaster. As we've seen with the West Coast Eagles you can fall very quickly...

Joke
Lucky to get one week for his hit on Sam Power's skull. You can argue he was held in a contest though that didn't stop his other elbow zeroing in on his target. As you would expect from another Geelong bogan.

2008 Brownlow Medalist
I'd just like to congratulate Gary Ablett in advance of the brownlow night on his well deserved win. Top 3 predictions: 1. Gary Ablett 2. Jimmy Bartel 3. Brent Harvey (the advantage of being an ok player in a crap team)

Don't believe the hype
Cats fans, don't get too excited about the year ahead. One flag doesn't instantly mean another. And yes, you got the monkey off your back though he could jump back on. Will be interesting to see you slide back towards the pack as things get going!

Nathan Ablett over Lonergan
Now that N Ablett is back training, could he make a late charge towards the finals? Lonergan is going ok, but he's far from convincing. I say bring back Nath in round 21.

The Tank
Josh Hunt is highly underrated. He's built like a tank, doesn't get beaten in the contest, reads the game well, and kicks with bullet like precision.

Rd 8 Match Report – Geelong vs North Melbourne
In a pulsating encounter Geelong prevailed over North Melbourne by 13 points at the Telstra Dome. Gary Ablett was at his blistering best with 39 damaging possessions. He displayed superior skill and strength over all comers. Tagging Ablett was about as useful as playing Leigh Brown in the North...

Just like the true champion he is, gave his opponents a wet weather football lesson. What a superstar, best in the competition by a country mile.

Selwood to overtake Ablett, Bartel
According to Dennis Cometti, Selwood will become Geelong's elite midfielder in 18 months time. It's a big call, but at the rate he's going, I'd have to agree.

Breathtaking performance
Just as Sydney looked like running over the top of Geelong, in steps the best player in the AFL (and if he continues down this path, best ever player in the AFL). Marks outside 50 - goal, intercepts a pass handballs to Hunt - goal, crumbs the pack - goal, takes a mark on a tough angle - goal....

Very lucky
Cannot believe Trent West got away with his cheap hit on Xavier Clarke last week. Very very lucky that it happened amongst the Barry Hall hysteria. If it was a slower news week he would have certainly, and rightly so, been rubbed out for it.

Gaz should have won the brownlow medal
No disrespect to Jimmy Bartel, but Gaz should have won charlie. Gaz pretty much won every other award, and the key difference was that these awards were based on the votes of people that sit back and analyse the match, as opposed to run around umpiring the game, and then at the completion of the...
